Today would prove to be another adventure, as I would be heading further south of the CBD area.

Day 3 was simply the prettiest day with the best weather of the whole trip. The sky was brilliantly blue with cute clumps of clouds which did not block the sun, but gave the entire city a great natural light which made it perfect for photo-taking.
My first stop was the humongous Saint Paul’s Cathedral right smack in the center of CBD. There was some construction afoot so more walking had to be done to reach there. I am a sucker for gigantic church architecture so I got lost in the fluted arches, colored windows and impressive altars around the church. There were many tourists (more than worshipers it seems) around snapping pictures so the security guards were rather tolerant of us.

Next, I did a deep-dive into Federation Square. There were a lot of educational attractions there and the place was full of school-excursions going in and out. Students were studying on the huge steps and there were many spots which were great for IG pictures. 2 places which stood out to me were the museum and the Ice-cold bar, where you had to borrow WINTER WEAR to enter it, which was actually a gigantic fridge in disguise. Again – probably a great pub to visit with a friend, not so when you are solo.

Once I was done with all the pictures, I began a long trek across the Princes bridge which stretched over the Yarra River. There were tourists, skateboarders, couples and students about and again, there was opportunities to take many great pictures of the city from the bridge.

After a very long walk between numerous skyscrapers, I finally arrived at the Eureka Skydeck. It seemed that every respectable city had to build one of these, where tourists could take a lift all the way 80+ stories to admire the city view. This one was 88 stories high and yes, the view was stupendous.

I spent quite some time at the top and reluctantly left as the day grew older. I got some souvenirs and made my way westwards towards the Queens Bridge to cross the Yarra River again. It was nearly 5pm when I arrived at the Immigration Museum and the nice lady at the entrance told me I had like 40 minutes to go through all the exhibits as they were closing shortly.

As expected, this was a true blue museum which exhibited everything that had to do with the early settlers and original aborigines of Melbourne way back when it was discovered. There were impressive study areas at the ground floor which I wish I had access to when I was getting a degree ages ago.

Evening arrived again, and my target pub this day was the Mill Brewery – another top rated joint with great beer, merchandise and even a ping pong table. It began to rain heavily as night fell and I found that I was the only patron left as everyone fled before the downpour. I had to wait out the rain with great beer, and a very gracious and tolerant bartender.

It was late night when I managed to grab a ride back to my Airbnb. I got some kebab as supper and a six pack to consume in my room.
