As you may have gathered from the title, this is the launch page which chronicles my solo trips overseas without the original #fatfurious group because sometimes, it is kinda hard for 6 working adults with various agendas and life goals to sync up more than 1 trip per year.

2017 Nov – Taipei Redux Trip # 2 – a second trip there; this time a solo vacation. It is a very specialized trip with very specific goals. (Follow this link to read about my SOLO trip to Taipei)
2018 May – Manado – this is technically a company trip with my new company but it is too cool to not leave it here. Find out more about the trip here.

2022 – Oct – Fast-forward 3 years! I sort of excelled in isolating myself throughout the Pandemic and more. Finally found the opportunity for a short staycay in Sentosa. follow this link for the low-down
2023 – Aug – It took me a minute to find the motivation to go abroad again, since the Pandemic (yeah excuses..) It is back to BALI – Padang Bai! Call it exploratory reconnaissance #1, cos I’m definitely going back.. Catch the vibes here!
Edit: Well, went back I did. My cousin is some big-deal restoration dude there and it was plenty interesting to chill there. Although there wasn’t much to do there but drink, chill, and do some remote work.
- Padangbai 2023 Dec – back there with the Auntie/uncle / Parents of said cousin.
- Padangbai 2024 April – oopsie had a accident. nothing to see here. fly back to SG with 2 cracked ribs and shame. very mid vibes here.
- Padangbai 2024 Sept – wow a Beach club, great restaurant. Good times. sort of busted my kneecaps climbing up a beach cliff. Still, vibe check here.
- Padangbai 2025 Jan – escaped to Bali during CNY. why not? saving up on Annual leaves. New accommodation Zen Inn. Cousin Leon on his new restaurant/cafe place. Met Prof Gretchen from NUS. Cool gal! Prob not going back until late 2025.
2024 – Sep : Wow, new group of mates, new overseas trip – my maiden voyage to HO CHI MIN CITY (Vietnam). It is every single dude’s dream come true and more. (spoiler’s alert: definitely heading back. wink wink)
PSA in 2025 – in the interests of not spending money on this blog to increase storage, leaving less pics here from this point onwards, at least until I see a point in expanding this blog. (to inform ppl close to me, which numbers a precious few anyways). The pics will instead be archived in my google pics storage (until it is no longer free) and in some portable hard disk at home. Let me know if anyone has concerns. Cheers.
2025 – Feb : Guess what? back in HCMC! Can’t stay away. Great food, great night life, great cultural exchanges. 8-man assault team, good vibes, a bit too much beer. Can research as a semi-retirement site. Tried Liberty Hotel Saigon Parkview. 1 more star. Still good!
2025 – Mar: 3d2N at JB with Xavier bro! Goodness. nothing is low-key when you are out with this group. group of 10-ish, 2 nights of beer, cultural exchange, music, night life and great M’sia food. Condo apartment @ the Pinnacle.
2025 – Apr: The long-awaited Bangkok trip! Praso@Ratchada 12. Will share more after the trip. likely a 6 to 8 man team invading BKK with water cannons and cultural vibes during Songkra Festival and there is a S20 music festival during the 1st 2 nights. stay tuned!
2025 – May: It is off to Shenzhen with Xavier again. don’t expect it to be low-key considering their track record. at least a 4-man team on this trip. Probably going to take a hiatus until Aug/Sept after this. Have to regen up energy and the wallet. (hard times ahead due to that orange-skinned bastard in the white house)
